Quack, the drummer:
==============

Quack has been a drummer for over four decades.

He's covered, and is competent in, nearly the full spectrum of musical styles on the kit and he can read music and lift heavy things.

He is currently the principal drummer for the Northern Beaches "Village Big Band".

He was the original drummer in the 17 piece stage band "Harbord Diggers Big Band", and 12 piece Sydney covers band "Enormous Horns".

He served his time in Allambie Heights Public School's brass band, the "Manly District Brass Band", The Forest High School's band, orchestra, pit, jazz ensemble; also Adrian Rodden's smooth Mosman jazz combo "Market Day", Peter Bauers' Sydney "East Coast Horns", Bob McGlynn's Central Coast 4 piece classic rock band "C.C. Shooter", Tony Rynan's Sydney rock covers band "Engine Room", Mike Hammond's tribute band "Robbee Williams Live".

He was the sole drummer for David Elliott's Frenchs Forest originals/covers band "Rum Jungle", and Brendan Render's Central Coast funky covers group "Heavy Tones".

He has also substituted in the orchestra pit of numerous shows, brass bands, stage bands, rock outfits including "Wide Load", tribute bands including "Cocker Down Under".

He was also the resident sound dude for 6 piece Port Stephens rock and roll band "Wide Load".

He has run his own successful "Earthquacke Big Band" in both the Northern Beaches and Central Coast from the kit, and had a 5 piece covers band "Earthquacke" featuring local high calibre musicians.

A few people have described Quack's playing, but most tend to change the subject.
The early years didn't slow him down and neither can the rest of the band.
With a cursory glance at dynamics and no communication skills, he is best left at the back of the stage, preferrably in low light.
He continues to pursue a career in pyrotechnics and should not be approached, especially at night.
He is not permitted to attend band bonding sessions or other social outings as it is an established fact that the longer he remains in a band then the more chance that band has to reduce its numbers.
It is hoped Quack will continue to carry heavy things for the rest of the band.
His autobiography was widely criticised by horn players and vocalists for its truthful reports of horn players and vocalists.

Quack's kit:
========

Quack converted to Australian owned, designed and manufactured Sleishman drums, having purchased their unique prototype Australian Blackwood stave shell design kit in August '09.

He says "At the time, I needed to upgrade my old Roland TD-10 electronic kit. I had some lengthy and very productive discussions with Adz up at The Drum Shop, Newcastle, about exactly what would satisfy the criteria for my next machine. Result - I was lucky enough to get the flag ship of the best acoustic kit fleet, worldwide."

Quack's quotes for a better life:
=====================
 "Only attend choir practice when suffering the flu",
 "When you record the percussion over the better parts of the sax solo by 'accident', always be apologetic",
 "Tune one of your toms to a quarter tone sharp of concert pitch - its bound to clash with a trombone note at the worst time and they'll play quieter because of the dissonance",
 "Always use the noisy channels on the desk for the horns",
 "Here's a use for those old broken microphones - hard wire them "OFF" and use them for the saxes, then when the players tap them and demand more foldback during the break, just re-assure them that it sounds fine out the front".
